Where? When? And what's the weather and climate? Regency knows, from much experience, that these are rightfully the issues that first confront couples, looking to marry abroad. They are a natural starting point for planning a wedding.
The large popular cities, Florence, Rome, Venice, are crowded and filled with tourists during the Spring months - April, May, June - and Fall - September and October. Of course, those are the months of really beautiful weather. Couples must weigh their needs for a peaceful and cosy wedding or one in the middle of the excitement of tourist season. Since there are so many possibilities of place and time, Regency can simplify what might seem to be difficult choices. We suggest a wedding in Rome in autumn, a wedding in Florence and a wedding in Venice in spring time
. Any season is the right season for a wedding in Tuscany
In the summer, for example, when it can get very hot, we suggest the late afternoon in a cool church, shaded garden, air-conditioned hotel, etc.
At the end of October, November - and even December - all places in Italy are less crowded and the weather can still be very good. If you are particularly concerned about the weather, we would personally suggest that you choose a date at the end of October or the beginning of November. At that time, there will be more privacy during the ceremony, but above all, you and your guests will also be able to visit cities and places of interest, with less stress. Everyone can really enjoy their stay in Italy.
There are also some areas, like the Amalfi Coast or the southern part of Italy, that stay warm and sunny - almost perfect weather - through October. Since they are mainly seaside resorts, the high season ends early and prices go down. The south is really wonderful for a fall wedding. There are a lot of wonderful things to see on the Amalfi Coast. The landscape is stunning, a perfect setting for your wedding pictures. Each little town has its own main church, and there's also a lovely little chapel for your Wedding in Amalfi Coast, in Positano. Regency could arrange your wedding reception in a local restaurant with a view of the sea. Local cuisine is delicious - home made pasta and fresh fish, ripe tomatoes, lemon flavoured desserts ... - if the weather cooperates, you could also have a candlelight dinner outside ... so romantic!
Sicily can also be a fine solution for your wedding site. We would recommend the city of Taormina - full of history, with superb views of Mt. Etna and the clear, blue sea. There are many wonderful things to see and a visit to the famous Greek theatre is a treat. The main monument is the ancient theatre, not only because of its intrinsic artistic value, but also because its picturesque position. The panorama to be enjoyed from up there has even been defined the Panorama Par Excelence, something you really must not miss once you are in Sicily.
Your wedding. We can't think of a more fitting occasion to have your every wish indulged. And we can't think of a more fitting gift than a beautiful wedding ceremony in Italy.
