Perched on the sun-drenched slopes above Figline Valdarno, the 16th-century Villa La Palagina provided a picture-perfect setting for Junyi and Michael’s romantic destination wedding. Encircled by silvery olive groves, terraced vineyards and Renaissance gardens, this Chianti retreat exudes relaxed Tuscan elegance—ideal for a couple who wished to blend sophisticated style with warm countryside charm.
The celebrations began the evening before with a rustic-chic welcome party beside the villa’s upper pool: festoon lights twinkled overhead, estate wine flowed freely, and a live trio set the tone for a joyful weekend. Junyi, radiant in a flutter-sleeve silk gown, and Michael, effortlessly dapper in linen, greeted guests against a backdrop of golden hills and a glowing sunset.
The following day, an intimate ceremony unfolded beneath the rose-draped pergola overlooking the valley. After heartfelt vows, guests strolled through cypress lanes to the Limonaia—the villa’s glass-fronted orangery—transformed into a floral dreamscape by Tuscany-based designer Simone Bertini. Cascading blooms in soft blush and terracotta hues mirrored the surrounding landscape, while suspended greenery added a whimsical touch above the candlelit tables.
Dinner showcased the very best of Chianti cuisine: hand-rolled pici with wild-boar ragù, estate-pressed extra-virgin olive oil, and vintages from neighboring vineyards. The evening flowed effortlessly into dancing on the panoramic terrace, where fairy-light canopies, late-night gelato carts and a sax-DJ duo kept spirits high until the early hours.
From the tranquil ceremony to the laughter-filled reception, Junyi and Michael’s celebration at Villa La Palagina captured the essence of Tuscany—romance, authenticity and unforgettable views at every turn.
