ITALIAN QUARTET

World Music for Events and Weddings in Italy.

At the beginning of the twentieth century, a lrage number of the amateur mandolin and guitar players and other musicians in Livorno came together to form a group bearing the name of the Maestro Giuseppe Verdi. In a short amount of time the newly formed orchestra (which was made up only of plectrum instruments) began to perform with much enthusiasm. At its height, there were about sixty musicians playing all kinds of mandolins and guitars.

Numerous successes in competitions across Italy led to the recording of a record in 1926 for Columbia Gramophone. Shortly afterwards, the war and historical upheavals extinguished the orchestra's musical passions. After a long break, the Quartet was formed in 1987 with the aim of bringing back Livorno's great mandolin tradition.
