
Born in Pusan in South Korea in 1973, this soprano received her degree in singing at a very young age from the Musical High School in her city of birth. After graduating, she moved to Italy to continue her musical studies at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. She earned her degree with distinction in 1999. She went on to perfect her vocal studies under the guidance of some of the most important singers of the Italian vocal tradition such as Marisa Costantini, lolanda Magnoni, Nicoletta Panni and Antonetta Stella. She has won first place in numerous competitions including the "Competition at the University of Pusan", "Kosin Vocal Competition" and "Giuseppe di Stefano Competition" (held inTrapani in 2000). She made her singing debut as 'Serpina' in Pergolesi's La Serva Padrona, and has recently performed as 'Lucinde' in Schubert's Claudine von Villa Bella.
She has collaborated with important musical formations including the
New York Orchestra, the Rome Symphony Orchestra, the Alessandro
Scarlatti Symphony Orchestra from Naples and the Aureus Concentus
Orchestra.
She also performs as soloist in the 'Coro dei Fiorentini' with whom she has performed in the 'Grande Musica
in Chiesa 1998/1999' show as well as at the International Festival of Contemporary Music organized in 1998
for the Musikč Association. She has always been interested in the re-discovery of Italian music from the seventeenth and eighteenth
centuries and continues to perform as a soloist with an early music ensemble and in duet with the
harpsichord player, Luca Purchiaroni.
This soprano performed as a soloist for the National Academy of Santa Cecilia at the inauguration of the
"Colors of Music" exhibition in December 2000 at the Palazzo Barberini in Rome.
