Real Wedding in Florence

Florence, beautiful and beguiling. This enduring and endearing city is a cross-walk for people from all over the world. Known for the unbelievable collection of Renaissance art in its famed museums, Florence draws repeat visitors as well as hordes of new guests each year. It is said that 30% of the finest art is housed in Florence. The "David" by Michelangelo in the Accademia brings gasps or complete silence, so moving its presence is. Inside and in the outer reaches of the city are exquisite hotels, historic villas, castles, palaces, gardens and terraces and one of the most beautiful Town Halls in the world, the Baroque styled grand synagogue, churches and cathedrals. All are available for your Wedding in Florence, which Weddings in Italy can plan right down to the most unusual detail. The Regency planners in Florence, two of whom are American, know their territory well and can recommend florists, photographers, musicians, seamstresses, hair and make-up artists, and favor makers of the highest order.

Each wedding is personalized - from the smallest personal celebration to elaborate formal affairs. Many different events surrounding your Wedding in Florence can be planned by us. Accommodations for the couple and guests, car service and other extras are easily arranged in Florence.

The celebrated churches, designed by the finest of architects, attract droves of tourists. It would seem that the prayers of so many years and so many worshippers reach up and touch you. The renowned Duomo dominates the skyline and its steps are a natural meeting place. The Duomo, started in 1296, took more than a hundred years to complete, sits on the north side of the Piazza della Signoria even has its own museum to show the process of building it.

The center of town is a restricted section that does not allow passenger cars, so walking is easy and immensely pleasurable. From narrow cobble-stoned streets to grand concourses, the eye is filled with the wares of fabulous couture shops and small boutiques with custom-made items. Leather clothing and gloves, jewelry, shoes, fine paper goods, antiques, and ceramics fill the senses and tempt the pocketbook.

The flea market at San Lorenzo is filled with merchandise at low prices. Pashmina scarves, tee shirts, belts and all kinds of souvenirs are displayed in booths manned by vendors, most of whom speak English. Bargaining is acceptable. Right nearby is the famous Mercato Centrale, the central market housed in a cavernous historic building. Natives and visitors rub shoulders. "Foodies" are in heaven. Fresh meat, fish, wine and cheese merchants line the first floor. There is also what would be called "appetizing stores" in New York, brimming with homemade spreads to be slathered on "crostini", small toasted pieces of Florentine bread. Mixtures of different fruit marmalades - fig, pear, orange, etc. - are sold so that pieces of cheese can be dipped in the tangy/sweet concoction. The wine booths sell miniature wine and olive oil, perfect for small gifts. Upstairs the freshest produce, dried fruits and spices abound. Small cafes and lunch spots serve delicious and very inexpensive food.

One cannot talk about Florence without mentioning the gelaterias, the indescribable shops selling Italy's famous ice cream. Florentines can tell you where to get the best chocolate, the best sorbet-like fruit flavors, the mixtures such as chocolate/mandarin orange and even pear cheese-cake gelato at one gelateria.

It is important to note that because of the huge crowds during the summer as well as the heat, Spring and Fall weddings in Florence are recommended.
