Born in Livorno in 1970, this accordion player studied classical
accordion at the "L. Cherubini" Conservatory in Florence under the
guidance of Ivano Battėston.
He participated in the International internship course of 'High
Perfectionism of the Accordion' given by J. Macerollo, H. Noth and I.
Battiston.
At the moment he is taking seminar classes in the 'Scuola Superiore di
fisarmonica classica' (Superior School of Classic Accordion) directed by
S. di Gesualdo.
He has played with the instrumental group from the workshop on Astor
Piazzolla of the 'Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte' in Montepulciano
conducted by M° Hugo Aisemberg. He has also participated in a Master
Class given by Stephan Hussong, organized by the "Amici della Musica"
association in Florence.
He has chamber music experience in playing with the "Progetto Piazzolla"
quintet. They won the Stresa International Competition as well as the
Macerata Feltrea Competition. He also played with this group in Buenos
Aires at the "La Scala" and at the "Torquato Tasso" theaters. He has
also taken lessons on the style of the tango with Suarez Paz, Astor
Piazzolla's violinist.
He formed a classic accordion duo together with Alessandro Moretti with
the intent to let the public get to know the music of these keyboard
instruments as well as the original music for two accordions. The duo
has placed as finalists in chamber music competitions: Macerata Feltrea
(PS), Livorno, Grosseto and Figline Val d'Amo (finalist, second place
and third place, respectively).
He is a member of the "Le fisarmoniche del conservatorio di Firenze"
("The archordions of the Conservatory in Florence") ensemble, conducted
by Ivano Battiston.
He works together with the "Modi Ensemble" orchestra and with the
orchestra of the "P. Mascagni" music school in Livorno.
In addition to the accordion, he also studies Music Science and
Technology under the direction of Marco Ligabue, as well as organ and
organ composition with Mariella Mochi (Conservatory in Florence) and
Jazz Music with Mauro Grossi.
He participates in the "Educational Refresher Workshop" at the 'Comunitā
Montana' in the Mugello.
He also studies at the University of Pisa for a degree in Music History.
He teaches accordion at state schools in Grosseto, Prato, Poggibonsi,
Collesalvettė and at the "Bonamici" school in Pisa.
