Santa Maria Maddalena church in Atrani
The collegiate church of Saint Maria Maddalena was built in 1274 on the
ruins of a medieval fortress. It was commissioned by the inhabitants of
Atrani to thank the Saint, who released them from a handful of sailors.
Today the church has evident architectural characteristics, such as the Dome
of majolica and an elegant bell tower of the sixteenth century in tuff with
two floors with square map, two transepts and an octagonal belfry.
It’s 10 minutes driving from Amalfi.
